A Sunday in July is a good day for a picnic. Here is a photo of the Canadian Gypsum Company Store picnic on the 24th May 1896. Back to work Monday with a trip to the Gypsum Mill in Hillsborough in this 1936 photo. Raw gypsum was manufactured into plaster and plaster of Paris. It was also one of the first plants in Canada to make wall board. Notice the train int the foreground.

Back to church Sunday, with a visit to the old Hillsborough Baptist church.which burned in 1910.

In keeping with the Hillsborough Home Coming theme here we have a gathering of Lodge Members on Main Street in Hillsborough about 1900.

Here is a photo looking up the hill towards the Post Office in the 1940’s . This maybe the Red Cross parade from 1943?

Here is an interesting photo of the buildings which sat where the old Hillsborough Post Office is. This photo was taken before 1913. Tomorrow we’ll see what replaced them.
